Awakened about 3 AM by our guns putting up a barage & Fritz is also putting some over, a few big shells are dropping only a few hundred yards from here. One shell dropped among our Tug-o-war team killing 6 & wounding about 9. After dinner we decided to have a walk to get away from here, because we don't want to see what we saw this morning, with legs & arms off. We just got about 1000 yards from here & saw were 3 shells dropped, dead men & legs & hands lying, it was a dreadful sight. I felt sick today to see such sights 10 miles behind the line. We got word to leave Neuve Eglise for Vauxall camp about 1½ miles. I went to a lecture in the YMCA which was very good then I marched along to the new camp. Its a lovely moon light night, & only a few shells in the distance.
