firing line I will send you a diary, which I have been keeping since I came aboard. Today is Wed and a rather sad one at that, as one of the Tasmanians died early in the morning He was buried at sea at eleven o'clock. It was a very sad scene and made a great impression on some of the chaps. They said they never wished to witness another & neither do I. One of the chaps just called me to see the sun-set and I can tell you that they are the prettiest scenes I ever saw As the song says "You can't get away from it." We saw a fine big school of dolphins today, there must of been thousands in one school & some of them leaped out of the water from ten to fifteen or twenty feet.
We are getting very close to land now & have caught several birds on board, all land birds.
The 11th was beaten in the tug-o-war
