stripes. I have been able to make a start today, as I have been given two. It is I think only temporary, as I am in the re-inforcements, but if there are any permanent appointments I am going to work for it.
We went up to see the other chaps to-night, and they are going to apply for transfers to us tomorrow. I forgot to tell you that we are in the sheds, and I think they will prove superior to the tents. The other fellows are in the tents, and they are all keen on getting into the sheds. Each shed holds seventy-five men, and each man is supplied with a bag of straw, so no more corns on the hips. Liverpool is going to be far better than Warwick, as there are plenty of attractions. If all one hears can be relied upon, we should get away in about six weeks, It is a longer spell than I expected and I will get away sooner if I can work it, by being transfered as Dick did, but if the worst happens, well then time will not hang quite so heavy up here.
