3. up. This did not appeal to me so I went higher & gained my end. I will enclose a letter or the original of which I gained my end. As you know Mac N. is in command of the fourth & so I put my trust in him No doubt I had a cheek but without it, one gains nothing. Since my last letter I have entered into a new department of the army. I am now a grenadier or in other words a bomb-thrower & bayonett fighter. The officer of the grenadiers, was the chap who said he would do all he could to get me back & tonight he gave me the good news & he also said that I probably would get back as a corp so you can still carry on with the title. I got your little slip re Nessie & was rather surprised. Was glad to know that the parcels were O.K.
