Dear Nell,
You will not be able to get much news from me now, as we are forbidden to do such a lot of things that we will have very little to say.
I had a grand time before we left a certain place which I will tell you about when I come back. Hope you got the little package I sent through Mother. We are having grand weather again for a start, it is one long roll. There are any amount sick mostly Victorians, who have just joined us.
One of the crew just predicted calm weather for a few days so the Bight should not be too bad. I have just been appointed corporal again. It seems to be my fate. Still address my letters as Private. This is Wed & things are beginning to change for the good better there is a prospect of drill daily Had our first parade today. Am senior corp. & had charge of the platoon today, I suppose it is the fore-runner of trouble again for me. We get a wetting every time we go on deck today, It is not very rough but we get the waves in such a position that they break
