3.  How did you enjoy the concert?  I saw an account of it in one of the papers, & it seemed to have been a great success.
I am looking anxiously forward, for that biscuit tin as a cake is an article, which I have nearly forgotten the use of, but you bet I'll soon find it out- It should arrive any day now, as the Aust mail is just about due.  I see by your letter that you heard from Jack, & that he expressed the same longing as I, in regards to a dance.  I believe I would even undertake to swing Amy D. around all night, to satisfy the longing.  What kind of leave is it, that Newland is on?  Has he been granted it, for the same reason, which it was granted f to me?  Thanks for trying the imitation puttees.  It must have been a severe task, owing to the fact that you could not get a pattern  You said you remembered Harry Wheat, well he is now in the Pioneers as a carpenter, & over here, doing well.  Have not heard anything of Viv Membray, since we left.
