night & made us dig in, amidst the mud & water.  Well we dug in & expected to get it, about three o'clock, just about daylight.  After we finished our shift, we came back to the billet & went to sleep, & never woke until seven o'clock.  They did send a few over, but they all landed about two, or three hundred yards away & no harm was done.  All our hard work, for nothing, although it may still serve its purpose.  This morning a few more went over, & caught a building, but no harm was done, other than knocking the house about.
