yourselves & danced a fling, especially Mum, as I am afraid the verandah would not stand it.  We found a mascot, or rather it came to us, today, in the shape a a little black ,& white, dog.  Owing to the necessity of having to work over time last night we did not get back to our dug outs until one, this morning, & of course it did not take us long to reach dreamland.  When we woke, about seven o'clock, we discovered that instead of two being in the dugout, there were three, the third being, a poor half starved dog.  I think he must have been hit with a piece of shrapnel, as he had a cut leg, & whenever a shell exploded or a gun fired, he would crawl under the blankets.  Anyway Alf Waugh, my dug-out companion & I, claimed him, & have called him Blighty.  I got a good long letter from Vera D. yesterday, & she gave me pretty well all the Lindfield news.  Do you remember that tall chap who took Amy, to the launch picnic, Will Fox? well I met him the other day, when I went looking for Albert Settle.  I also met young Curtis, the chap who used to go down to Madame's classes.  By the way, I received that Splashes, yesterday, & noted pencil markings,  Have you seen anything of Doris since, Mum told Will that he would have to make that
