if we were allowed to carry a revolver, to-day, but just as he was about to answer me, he was called away.  He told me, that, the authorities did not allow it but that he intended to do so, while he was exploring Egypt, or rather Cairo.  Of course the officers, are issued with a revolver but he meant an automatic, the same as I want.  I think he will tell me how I could do it secretly as he told me to see him afterwards.  How did you get on with the new young lady, did she turn up.  Jack had his exam today, and he says he thinks he got through alright.  Arthur went home yesterday, and when I met him last-night, he was like a dog that had lost its tail. (I nearly spelt the wrong tale)  He had a row with Phyl.  He turned up 15 mins late.  She got into a scot and left him standing at the gate. and It is getting near the time for a lecture to be given by the O.C. which I want to got to, so will have to close, with best of love to the finest girl that lives

P.S. Will most likely be in uniform on Wed night.  Kiss Mum Good-night for me also tonight,- and tell her I believe I can find a boy for that young lady to knit for  I have just met another boy from the Scottish.  He is the chap that lent me his rifle the time I came out as the best shot in the Reg.  Strange how you meet them isn't it  Al
