Volume 60: William Campbell letters, 1846-1894: No. 497
You are here
even if it does not suit sheep farming, but I should like to have very full information before I completed a purchase. As to a loan of £10,000 at 6½%, this seems a safe investment, and I do not see you can do better with your money than a mortgage at that rate for a long term of years unless a purchase is better. But as I do not know Queensland except by report, you better be guided by Kings judgment & experience.
You & your family are but young yet, and if your available capital is safely invested at a fair rate of interest until the most of your family reach maturity it will no doubt be greatly augmented.
Mrs. Anderson intends to remain here for about 3 weeks longer.
