highest character;  I have this evening heard a commercial man say that he would be sorry to take his cheque for £20.  And a very respectable Broker told me that he behaved very badly in some purchases he made of Stations from Mr. I. Aitken a few years ago.  And I myself must say that as a neighbour I was deprived of some 200 sheep which were proven to have been in one of Mr. Chambers flocks.  I mention these facts to put you on your guard against such an agent, at the same time he bears the name of being a clever lawyer.

I have done nothing yet in the way of buying a sheep station, the prices are too high, for the uncertain tenure.
