to the outskirts of the occupied country and take up the first good vacant country I could find. The east coast line of country then is not adapted for sheep, but I believe the interior is first rate, perhaps the fleeces are light through the heat. If I could however get a good block so near as the country between the Lachlan & Darling, I wd. certainly prefer it, even if I had to make artificial water upon it. Should I hear of any suitable party that wd. be able to lay out the position of any unoccupied country I shall let you know. Try however and get a sketch of the unoccupied blocks from the Chief Commissioner and I may be able to ascertain the general character of the country as I have met several parties who have been over the country.
