son Donald, who is still in Melbourne, and who will probably soon return to the old Country, though I dare say he prefers his native land.  From all accounts the pastoral interest is undergoing a series of very bad seasons, and I fear a large proportion of the squatters are in extreme difficulties.  I am suffering like others, but having no liabilities, I have only a lessened income to meet with a less expenditure, but that is not so with those who have bills to meet.  Landlords & farmers are suffering from low prices here though they have not lengthened droughts to contend against.
