spent two months out back in forming tracks and exploring their unknown lands.  They have about 35,000 sheep and 2000 head of cattle on their frontage runs and their back runs adjoin, so that they have a good base of operations.  They had to cart water out 10 miles to their camp from which they explored their runs in every direction, they discovered some clay plains where they intend digging tanks, and when the ground is stocked it will get hard and there will be a greater accumulation of water into the hollows, but it is a difficult thing to reclaim a back waterless level country in a dry climate like that of the Darling, for it they had a difficulty in mid winter in a season like this, what must it be in a dry hot summer.  I think it a hazardous undertaking
