I classed the examined the "first class" flock the other day I found many of them so inferior that I considered them unfit for the "Second Class", and on the other hand I found a large proportion of the "Second Class" flock equal to the "first class" flock.  This may have partly be owing to a change in character on reaching maturity but I have no doubt it is owing mainly to the "First flock" having been in worse bad condition through the last summer;  whereas the "second flock" had been in better condition.  Age, and condition must be taken into account in judging sheep.  The ram breeders prepare their sale stock by high feeding for two years before
