would depend upon the nature of the country, which at that distance would require to be naturally well watered.  Though water is found every where in deep wells, it is in some localities too salt for the use of the stock, for instance on the back stations near the confluence of the Murray & Murrimbidgee, and lying back, about 30 miles north the water in the wells is unfit for use and in localities where it is fresh wells are expensive to sink and to work afterwards, but I believe the plains lying north of these stations being nearer the hills & shewing less salt bush on the surface would have fresher water.  I have some experience on this point.  I purchased three back blocks between the Billabong and
