My dear Mrs. Onslow,

I was very glad to get your kind letter of the 28th Augt., and although I have really nothing of interest to communicate I think it well to keep up our correspondence.  I need scarcely say that I sympathise with you in another loss, and I feel certain that you will say "Thy will be done".  The responsibility you feel for the dear little ones left with you will help to divert your feelings from the loss of the dearest that have gone before.  May we all only strive to do our duty.  I think you are perhaps right in not disturbing your sons progress at school until he is advanced enough to go to college.  I know it will be
