on the 6th the latest advice which I have had they wrote, "The sheep are much reduced in condition and are falling off every day.  The few lambs which have been saved are going fast".  I had about 16,000 Ewes lambing down, and I do not expect to have many lambs saved, and had the season been propitious I ought at least to have had 15,000 as the Ewes were all young & sound, but I must be thankful if I can save the most of the Ewes, and compared with the losses of many squatters to the north of Adelaide mine are small;  some of the squatters there have lost 20,000 and others have nearly lost all their flocks.  The losses are not
