Volume 60: William Campbell letters, 1846-1894: No. 421
You are here
really not been able to call upon scarcely any one from certain habits I have got into of playing a rubber at Whist every afternoon at my Club.
My Australian correspondence with my Agents and Station Managers occupy much of my time on the use of a mail day as it does today, and which will I trust excuse this hurried note.
As to "Australia in 16 days", I have no doubt about its being done some day, but there is some difficulties in the way of getting proper concessions from Turkey. I believe our Govt. are favorable to it. The matter will not be lost sight of.
With kindest regards to all your dear little "bairns", believe me to remain,
Yours very sincerely
