really not been able to call upon scarcely any one from certain habits I have got into of playing a rubber at Whist every afternoon at my Club.

My Australian correspondence with my Agents and Station Managers occupy much of my time on the use of a mail day as it does today, and which will I trust excuse this hurried note.

As to "Australia in 16 days", I have no doubt about its being done some day, but there is some difficulties in the way of getting proper concessions from Turkey.  I believe our Govt. are favorable to it.  The matter will not be lost sight of.
