Between dams, wells tanks, and fencing I have had a constant outlay for the last four years, and a good deal of mental work to put things in their proper places.  The seasons being so dry I had to depend almost entirely upon the wells.  This year however we have been very well off for water for the last four months, but even now my dams are not quarter filled and without more rain will not last half the summer.  Prices of stock are very low, sheep about half the price they were 12 months ago.  I lambed down my ewes in paddocks for the first time.  I had 12,000 in one, and 7000 in another, and nearly 7000 in a third, and have cut 80 per cent of lambs.  I had only a man on horseback to look after each paddock.  Of course
