grapes than send them to Sydney while fair prices are obtainable.  I did not expect to hear that Camden suffered so much from the drought.  I suppose the sheep stood it better than the cattle, as they bite closer to the ground.  Riverina & Queensland and South Australia suffered dreadfully and many poor squatters lost all their stock.  The sheep stock on my Riverina properties were reduced in numbers by sales, and the remainder (about half the normal number) were in low condition but only a few died.  The rain and the extraordinary rise in the price of wool has brightened pastoral prospects in Australia very rapidly.  Wool is about 60% above the prices 5 months ago.  I think it will keep up for some years to come
