We are having fine warm weather after a few weeks of cold showery sunless days. The vegetation is perhaps the greatest within the memory of man, and with warm sunshine to ripen the crops the yield ought to be abnormally high. The cheapness of food and clothing is a great boon to the working man especially as wages are not much lower, so the great mass of the people are more comfortable than perhaps they ever were before. Our political parties are pandering to the votes of the masses, and property will soon have to find all the taxes. With kindest regards to all your family circle, and to Mr. P. King, &c.
Yours sincerely W. Campbell
