advance to meet the payment of Mr. Onslows place, and if you otherwise require money in England I do not think you cd. do better than open an account with the R.B. of Scotland.
A year or two ago Colonial Debentures were selling at a rate that admitted a profit when they yielded about 4½ per cent, I then purchased a considerable amount of them and the difference of that rate and the rate charged by the Bank left me a profit, but now the price of the Colonial and other Debentures have scarcely a margin for a profit, so my banking speculations have ceased at present.
