My dear Mrs. Onslow,
I had much pleasure in the receipt of your letter of the 15th April from which I learned that you were all well. I have no doubt by your dear girl will be able to stand a sea voyage when she gets stronger. The large steamers are not so bad for sea sickness as the smaller ones on the Tasmanian line. In 1859 I returned from a voyage to Australia and back by steamer without being sick, but on going to Jersey immediately on my arrival home I was dreadfully sick, but the weather was rough and the steamer was a small one.
