level tract plain with patches of timber on sandhills.  It was partly improved when I purchased it 12 years ago and the cost of the improvements helped to ruin the late owner Mr. Hugh Glass.  I have been sinking wells, excavating tanks fencing, &c. improving the runs ever since, so that there has been an outlay altogether of perhaps £100,000 in improvements that is calculating the interest of such expenditure.  Of course I had profits from the wool &c.  Altogether it has paid me well.  I felt however that runholders
