had upon the quality of the the fleece before. I have for many years passed past classed the Ewes; putting the best in No. 1 flock, second class in No. 2 flock, and rejecting the inferior. On this occassion the No. 1 flock to my astonishment appeared inferior generally to No. 2 flock, which I can only attribute to its being in ill condition last summer, whereas No. 2 had not been in good condition throughout the season. This shows plainly that good condition must be continuous to produce good wool.
