the railway now being constructed from "Port Augusta" to the "Gumms" [possibly Government Gums now known as Farina] and it will be profitable to grow wool there. But if the freezing of meat succeeds I will leave the cattle to increase; in fact I am arranging to put 5000 more cattle on the runs.
It is perhaps foolish at my advanced age to bother about more stations, but I have a large number of relatives both here and in Europe to provide for, and I feel it a duty to do my best for them. Besides I am somewhat of a speculative cast of mind. These stations will cost me about £40000 payable in March in cash which I can meet from some money I lent on mortgage, and
