advertizing the runs in the gazette for sale in 1857 in common with runs of other character - the words used in the notice were "which have been adjusted in consequence of conflicting tenders or after having been occupied have become vacant by forfeiture or otherwise".  It was a common heading applied to embrace runs of different character, and as my runs became forfeited from having become vacant and non payment of rent, they were clearly "forfeited" runs, and not "adjusted" runs as they concluded them to have been.  The runs were originally called adjusted runs, because they were made to correspond with the frontage runs, so as to enable the holders of the frontage runs to rent the back country conterminous
