that I had many old friends scattered over that extensive Province, who were likely to carry me in with a large majority, which they did with nearly two to one. I avowed my conservatism on the Hustings against Mr. Rolfe's liberality and even in the large townships on the gold fields I beat him, so that my election was considered the greatest triumph conservatives had had in Victoria. I do not care to take a prominent part in politics only having a stake in the Colony think it well to have something to say in the Govt. of it.
What became of the Camden pure merinos? Are they still kept pure? Could I purchase a few of them? I shall be glad to hear what you do about the Ewes and I will do my best to assist you.
