the Commission & other charges which in many cases wd. leave only a small nett profit.  I speak from experience and I know it requires very clever buyers & sellers to make much of fattening stock.  The commission agents generally get the lions share, but if you have a flock of young Ewes and if you keep a small portion of the best of the Ewe lambs you will avoid the bother of buying & selling so often.  The intervening farms under cultivation might be exchanged for others on the outskirts of the property, or it might be worth while to buy their interest out & out.  The facilities of free selection enables farmers with small means to become owners of their own homes.
