general en route, the day was so wet and he was so much occupied at Govt. House and in receiving an address from the Town Council, that I scarcely hoped to see him. I trust however to see you as well as Mrs & Miss Macarthur. We have a spare room, and nothing could give us greater pleasure than your occupation of it, for the night, should you be a night here. We are very retired, and the ladies could get a better nights rest than they could on the ship or at an Hotel. Being 3 miles out of town we have not always timely notice of the arrival of the Steamer or I could drive to Sandridge to meet you.
