Leaving Colombo we hugged the Indian coast for a couple of days & cut across the Arabian sea.The heat was terriffic at Aden. We were promised leave ashore here but when arrived we were told of a Smallpox outbreak so after staying half a day we left. The natives here again are great dealers curios & eatables & Tobacco.Saw a red headed nigger.Arrived Suez There is a big army garrison at Aden.
