She would drive all the tail of the mob quickly  herself, & if a beast broke she would never leave it.  Have gone back an hour after we saw her last, & she would have the beast bailed up, at times in a water hole. But her pups were shy, & were not worth a Tinker's curse.

BABBLING BROOKS are noted for their growling. George was not too bad, but could not make out why we got the bullocks to settle down before coming for tea.

You damn boys think more of the bullocks than you do of your tucker. It is very satisfactory to see the bullocks lieing (sic) down, & to hear the wind coming up from their stomachs through their nostrils. They usually camp till about 11pm, when they get up, having chewed the cud, & had a sleep. & if not blocked they feed off the camp, & being held, they lie down on the Ç½ƒ?ªƒ?û
