Mr Keys had remembered two mobs of XIX bullocks coming to Muswellbrook some years before, & said they were lame, poor, foot sore & whip marked, & said you haven't a lame one, or one with a whip mark, haven't you got any whips? We had, but they were to hunt stray cattle out of the way, & to deal with barking dogs etc. The NSW men who brought those mobs must have been super DRIVERS, fancy whip marking bullocks on the road.

Mr Keys was very pleased when we told him the bullocks were eating the variegated thistle, & said
