One of the best boys we had was BUNDA & he wanted to marry Bessie a BARANG, which would have been quite all right, but they were distantly related in  some way, so his mother Sally & Uncle Yorkie would not allow them to be married.

Bessies first youngster was by BUNDA tho he was not even mentioned in the betting at the railway surveyors camp. He was a hot favourite for the second child but it was unmistakably by AH FOO. Another very wise law is, that a mother-in-law is not allowed even to speak to her son-in-law. Even a possible father-in-law appears to be the same. For instance, if Thomson had had a daughter (his gin must have been a BARANG) BUNDA could have married her but they had no children.

Thomson & BUNDA would not work on the same side of the stockyard fence when we were branding calves, & when mustering we would sometimes forget or say to BUNDA, you & Thomson go up the creek & they would start off in this B T direction.

Thomsons camp was nearest to the house
