No drover ever had a better hand than Dick Brown, who took on the looking after the lead of the mob. He steadied the bullocks when necessary, kept a good look out for the best feed, & turned the mob on to it. BUNDA was the home boy (?) knew the track of each horse.

That one got a bit broken off his foot, another was a bit pigeon toed etc. His only trouble was use of the horse bells.

"You got to get right up against to it before you can hear it"   We tried to explain that it was a C (see) bell.

BILLY DAWSON was a good lad (wonder if he is still alive) & used to call some medicine that Big Bill used to take "condition powders", it must have been good stuff as B Bill was a shade over 11 stone when he started, & shades over 13 stone when he got back. My only recollections of Harry "an experienced drover" was his driving the bullocks over a stay place instead of letting them take
