Vale, & CABBAGE TREE creek. We also had 21/4 miles of fencing, from the fence round the 2000 acres of freehold called the LAGOONS, also into MANY PEAKS range, where we ran up to1000 heifers. We had a bullock paddock, & a heifer paddock, which should have been enclosed years before, as cattle did not climb over either MANY PEAKS or BOBBY'S ranges.

My first game of cricket in Qld was on 9 Nov 1887, Prince of Wales birthday in Gladstone, Country v Town. We country folk beat the town by1 wicket & 1 run. We were one man short, & a pick up made the winning hit.

Jack MENZIES captained our team, & he & majority represented our district for 25 years against ROCKHAMPTON, MT MORGAN, DOARINGA etc. In NEW ENGLAND, NSW, the visitors were always given a good spread. The match was near where the Railway Station now is, & good old JACK BRUCE of the COMMERCIAL HOTEL had about shed, or a booth, & we had some very stale sandwiches
