Said you can have him if he will follow you Jack, who said he would lead him, & he had a good black dog, with a blue neck of his own. The cattle were only mustered once a year for branding, & to get the saleable steers  out of them. There was a lot of thick Wollum country, but with the two dogs he got every beast. One bullock broke at the yard at TANTI, outstation of EURIMBULA. The sandy country had made the dogs footsore, & Spot did not catch him till he had gone 1/2  a mile. Jack's dog heeled & Spot had a free ride to the yard.

Some of the know all youngsters think that we old ones are mad for talking to our dogs, but take it from me they understand.
