He remarked that they were touchy, so suggested he put my old coat on, & get on my horse, & being a Ç½ƒ?ªƒ?ûǽƒ?ªƒ?ûcattle man he knew it was right. Would not have minded a deal for his horse, but not the coat, as to this day it was the only coat that ever kept me dry.

He told me that the drover we had given eight days start to, was very annoyed with me for getting ahead, & swore he would head us. Told him that being boys on our first trip, we were sorry, but did not know the etiquette of heading any one.
