Have often thought since that a boat on wheels would be the best conveyance on a droving trip in a wet season. Suppose drovers up North have an amphibious motor vehicle now.

Mr Roe (one of the old hands who said The Boys had a cheek to take 640 bullocks to NSW, & who could only see 2 jokes in 20 years of London Punch) was amused when he said to Big Bill (who was in charge of the horses coming home) that he thought we had a very successful trip with the cattle, when Bill replied "Yes I reckon I did very well." We other 4 boys had kidded ourselves we had something to do with taking 645 out of 650 bullocks, 800 miles odd, & delivered them in good condition. Had evidently kidded myself of being in charge too. But you never know do you?
