in SEGENHOE & after lunch we all went asleep except Little Bill, & he was washing up, "and" the bullocks, who were spread all over the flat having a good feed, when a flash stockman, in a HARD HITTER (BOWLER HAT) came along, & he tried to make us believe he owned that part of Australia. He roared some, but helped us swim the mob over the river, & sang out to an Abo who was shepherding some rams (suppose sheep men do not tail Rams, but only lambs) to see that we got thro quickly.

The river was not much of a swim, & the bullocks were stringing across, as tho going thro a gate, you could have counted them. Buck as usual was looking after the tail of the mob, the grass & variegated thistles were long, & we saw Buck standing up on his hind legs to see if any of the bullocks were left behind, but
