She may have thought we were not sports for not giving her a go, & being disgusted she came back to the mob. Then a neighbour told us he tailed (shepherded in day time, yarded at night) his young horses, & we tailed all of the unbroken ones, & they left off galloping in the lower paddock & consequently averaged a band(?) tallies than the older ones. Before tailing they did not grow at all between yearlings & two year olds.

Next year W. Roe made us handle the yearlings, instead of tailing them, & they were the worst of the lot, they were not afraid of us & would race right under our horses necks. But we are getting too far ahead. When the stockyards were built at KOLONGA, the neighbours were all invited for the opening, guess they took pack horses & tents & camped.
