The lady cook could handle the ribbons all right, but two half draft horses could pull all the buckboard buggy would hold. It was a pity the girl, who was some horsewoman, did not get in time to catch the plane. It would have saved the poor sailor with the broken ribs & a very rough ride at full gallop in the buckboard, where there was not even a track, but lots of stones to bump over, if he was still alive when they got to the Dr (doctor), he must have been hardy. Cattle working thro thick saplings in the day time is a newie to me, but have only been amongst cattle abt 75 years, & still have a lot to learn. A cattle man could see by the look of the steers that there were a lot of men with whips, & probably dogs sending them along. If they had been rushing their heads would have been lower, & their ears back.
