dogs, but never heard him bark, the whole 13 weeks, & about 800 odd miles. Some of the old drovers (or drivers) used to take the bullocks long stages at first; to take it out of them, & make them tired so that they would camp well from being tired.

We started as soon as it was light, having caught our horses & had our breakfast, as bullocks are early risers & want to start along, as soon as it is light & we often let them walk till about 9 o'clock, fed them for a couple of hours, let them camp till they had chewed the end, & fed them all the afternoon when possible, right onto the camp, we kept them just moving, & went 3 or 4 miles after lunch as a rule.

Everything went on all right till we got to TOWERAN, 30 miles, but the KOLAN was a banker?, & we were not able to cross for three days. Mr ROBERT RICKARDS the manager
