Mr KEYS who had bought the mob, sent word that he would send a man in the morning to help us along the lane, & overĀ a bridge across the Hunter, no swim this time. It was about seven miles, & we saw a train at the railway station, & as the bullocks had never seen a train before, except when in the yard the night before, we did not want to meet one while in a narrow lane, & took a risk, had to turn at right angles to cross the bridge, & just had the tail end & Buck across, when the train came along.

The bullocks had walked the seven miles in about 2 1/2 hours, had not been driven, we were kidding ourselves we were really grown up, & drovers not drivers.
