& to quote a "nitwit" they did want yarding & working cattle in the yard is very often exactly opposite to out in the paddock.  When you get them going keep them going. Getting close to the gate into the yard let your dog or dogs hold the tail end to keep them going into the yard. Very few hands can work cattle  thro a crush especially when dipping, they go back for the next lot close to the crush & hunt the ones coming in back. So back from the end near the dip at right angles & if necessary keep right out from the crush & come in behind the cattle.
