Marriage laws etc of MIRIAM VALE aboriginals. Abo names for creeks & mountains with meanings.

Unfortunately TOM JOHNSON a 1/2 caste who gave me most of this information has gone West & amongst other things we forgot to ask him what were the boundaries of the district used by the local tribe. But they must have been South of Bundaberg & North of Gladstone & know they went West as far as Mt Perry tho even on the Burnet some of their words were quite different. For instance WEM meant BIG on the Burnet & at MIRIAM VALE it was INCATHA very different words. Even on the coast less than 20 miles there was the coast mob & they were the ones who speared TOLSON.

Have also got the correct names for many of the places within 100 miles or so. They are nearly all wrong as is the case all over Australia.
