We got into a 5 chain lane 10 miles long, & Ginger said there were good fences both sides & ?, so we left the bullocks go, & had our first "nightǽƒ?ªƒ?ûǽƒ?ªƒ?û in" since leaving home it rained heavily all night. The boss was first along the lane next morning, fortunately riding DONALD a great horse in the water, no cattle for about two miles, but about 200 yards of back water from the river, & a swim most of the way. Met the bullocks about two miles further on, walking back. They had been right to the other end, & something had frightened them, & there was a gap of about half a chain in a dingo proof fence,
