I had the fortune to meet an old Melbourne girl pal over there. In fact we were staying at the same hotel. You may know her. Myrtle Bevan was her name and she married a chap named Harry Bostock whom also I knew. Myrtle used to be a pal of Connie Lord's. It was rather curious how I met her. I went into my hotel one evening and I noticed a party of ladies looking hard at me. I, of course, wasnt expecting to see any ladies I knew, and London being a very gay place, "glad eyes" are very prevalent. Naturally I thought this was such a case and being naturally a modest & shy, little chap I looked away. When I saw one of the ladies detach herself from the group & come towards me I deliberately
