got a job which doesnt entail his coming up to the Gun Line at all. He's as right as rain and as fit as a fiddle - full of vim and cheeriness.
I'm so glad you are home again. As far as I can see now the fact of being home should help greatly towards a rapid recovery - that is if you do not persist in worrying about the housekeeping - or anything else. You've got to get well and get well quickly! By doing so you will be doing a National Service!
Mater dear, why say give your love to "little" Syd. There's not much that's "little" about him, either mentally or physically. He's a big broad manly soldier with a big broad mind and a big amount of grit & energy!
So glad to note that Connie was so considerate as to visit you & bring you lovely flowers. Also glad to note that Ida & Della have been so thoughtful about you.
Mrs Steele & Mr W.G. have also been awfully kind. Will you please tell Mrs Steele that I've seen a good deal of Clive lately. In fact I invited him over to my dugout a few nights ago to have a game of poker
